Supraclean 8810 – Powdered, Acidic cleaner for Membranes

Product Description

Supraclean 8810 is a heavy duty action low pH powder cleaner that quickly and easily mixes with water to make an easy-to-use cleaning solution that effectively removes a wide range of inorganic scale such as metal hydroxides, carbonates, phosphates and inorganic membrane foulants from reverse osmosis (RO), nanofiltration (NF) and ultafiltration (UF) membrane elements.

  • Removes scale due to hardness.Inhibits coagulation and deposition of organic and inorganic colloidal particles.
  • Ideal for the removal of acid-soluble scale including iron, calcium carbonate and metal oxides
  • Readily dissolvable powdered cleaner provides efficient shipping and handling.
  • Compatible with RO, NF, MF and UF membranes from all major manufacturers.
  • To chelate and remove oxides of iron and aluminum from the membrane surface

Usage And Application Instructions for Supraclean 8810

The standard dilution ratio is 25 grams of 8810per liter of water.

1. Inspect all cleaning system components to include CIP tank, hoses, and cartridge filters. Flush or replace if necessary.

2. Fill cleaning tank with RO permeate or DI water. Turn on agitator or tank recirculation pump.

3. Slowly add Supraclean 8810 to cleaning tank 25 grams of 8810 for every 1 liter of water and mix thoroughly.

4. The solution should be heated up to max. 40˚C to improve cleaning efficacy. Do not exceed the membrane manufacturer’s temperature limits.

5. Circulate solution in the same direction as the feed flow. Typical circulation times are 30-90 minutes.

6. Maximum flow rate per pressure vessel is 152 Lpm for 8-inch elements and 38 Lpm for 4-inch elements. Maximum pressure for cleaning is 60 psig.

7. In cases of heavy fouling, the first return flow (up to 15% of the cleaning tank volume) should be diverted to drain to prevent redeposition of removed solids.

8. Rinse with RO permeate before returning system to service. When returning unit to service, divert product water to drain until any residual cleaning solution has been rinsed from system.
