SupraChem 6400 – Antiscalant for Membrane Systems

Product Description

SupraChem 6400 is is a high performance antiscalant/dispersant blend with broad spectrum scale inhibition, capable of controlling carbonates, sulfates, phosphates, metal hydroxides and particulates. Proper use of this product will increase the lifetime of mem- brane-elements and decreases in this way the opera- tion- and investment cost.

  • Excellent hardness-stabilising effect against calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, strontium sulfate, barium sulfate and hydroxides of iron and manganese
  • Stable molecular structure maintains integrity in high pH, high temperature and high salinity water dispersant
  • Perfectly suited for municipal reuse, heavy industrial, brackish wells and other high loading applications, enabling stable performance by complete control of the feed water chemistry
  • Compatible with all of the leading RO membrans
  • Compatible - Coagulants

Chemical Reactivity

SupraChem 6400 is not affected by chlorine or other oxidising biocides under normal conditions of use without only Supracid 300.

SupraChem 6400 may be used in membrane systems using chlorine and sodium metabisulphite. And SupraChem 6400 is compatible biocides.

Application and Dose Level

SupraChem 6400 is an aqueous solution of an organic acid and as such is corrosive in its concentrated form. Corrosion resistant dosing equipment should therefore be used. Examples of suitable materials are 316L stainless steel, or plastics such as GRP, PVC and PE

The recommended injection point is into the feed water downstream of any filtration equipment and cartridge filters.

SupraChem 6400 is miscible with water in all proportions. It may be applied as the neat product, or as a solution in permeate. Minimum dosing solution strength of 10% w/w is recommended and typical dose rates are 1.0 to 10.0 mg/l. SupraChem 6400 should be dosed continuously and proportionately to the feed water flow, to maintain the recommended dose level.

The dose level required is dependent on the quality of the feed water and the saturation indices of the various scale forming species present in the concentrated brine.

Proprietary computer software is used to calculate scaling indices and calculate optimum system recovery. Dose level projections and recommendations are available on request.
